Prescription stockings may be covered by your company insurance coverage. Please call them to find out.

Medical compression stockings are classified into two main categories:
Prescription stockings - Over 20 mmHg pressure
Non prescription or OTC Over the counter stockings- under 20 mmHg pressure
There are many manufacturers for both categories. However being in the medical stockings business for over 10 years, we have been able to narrow down our suppliers to a few based on the pricing, quality, service, reliability and support. The selection of products in our store reflect just that.
Some of our suppliers are Sigvaris Canada, Bauerfeind Canada, BSN Jobst, Mediven, Venosan, Airway, Smoothtoe and Juzo.

Medical Stockings are further divided into open or close toe, knee high, thigh high, sports and panty hose. We do carry the largest invetory of stockings in the region. We have Calgary's most friendly, experienced, skilled and trained fitters. They will not only do the measurements but assist you with the brand of stockings based on your preference and life style. We usually give patients a pair of right stockings after fitting consultation.
Non prescription stockings do not need fittings.
Prescribed stockings over 20 mmHg do need to be fitted before purchase. We suggest patients to call us to book appointments.
Preferred time for fittings are between 10 and 12 AM Mondays to Fridays. This is the time feet are least swollen. On exceptional cases fittings are done in afternoon after patients asked to sit for about 15 minutes with their feet elevated.
Compression therapy is a cornerstone in the treatment of venous disorders and diseases of the lymphatic system. Compression therapy is also used to prevent venous thrombosis. Medical Products, prescribed by your doctor and correctly fitted, may positively improve the health of your legs by reducing venous symptoms and improving the venous blood flow.
Please visit Calgary's only dedicated store in stockings and enjoy the experience of stockings purchasing.
As a person walks, the contraction and relaxation of the calf muscles around the veins aid in moving blood toward the heart. The external graduated compression of  socks and stockings act as a layer of muscle by gently squeezing the stretched vein walls together, allowing the valves to close. The cavity of the vein is reduced, thereby restoring blood flow to a normal state and aiding overall circulation.
To be most effective, the socks or stockings should be put on at the start of your day and removed before you go to bed. Some people have an inherited weakness of the vein walls or valves which creates additional challenges to venous return. Wearing  graduated compression socks or stockings is vital for the prevention and treatment of varicose veins and other circulatory problems.
Compression Hosiery and Socks are used to treat venous and lymphatic disorders in ambulatory patients. Graduated compression stockings are used for all stages of Chronic Venous Insufficiency, including varicose veins, edema, stasis skin changes and venous procedures. They may also be used in preventing and treating Post-Thrombotic Syndrome. According to medical research, ambulatory patients with Chronic Venous Disorders require more compression than is available in anti-embolism stockings
